San Francisco Adventures

After leaving Sequoia, we drove for about 4 hours and finally arrived in San Francisco. The first night, we had planned an evening tour of the infamous Alcatraz Island. We took a ferry into the bay, and to the island. It was pretty cold and overcast. The tour took about 3 hours, and it was awesome! The tour was narrated by 2 former inmates and 2 former prison guards. It was very well done, and interesting facts were given. The most impressive thing to me was that the people who lived on Alcatraz were put there for isolation and rehabilitation, and the view of the lovely city of San Francisco was invisible to them--it was breathtaking to us!
