My Skater Dude

Peter has discovered the world of skateboarding! He spends a lot of his outside time practicing his new moves and tricks. He has a new set of friends from the skate park, and is taking lessons on Saturdays. Gary helped him build a ramp so that he can practice on the driveway. Dr. M and Tarsa told him that exercise would help keep his chemistry balanced, and work off some of that extra "manic" energy, and help energize his endorphins when he is sad. Skateboarding fits the bill!
Peter loves an audience, and asked me to take photos of him the other day. While he was practicing, he kept rattling off terms like "Ollie" and "Full 270 with a kick" and lots of things that didn't sound all that safe....
The pictures came oout cute, so I decided to make a chipboard accordian album to showcase his newfound talents! I used papers from Basic Grey Color Me Silly and some embellishments from Karen Foster that I just found. Hope you enjoy my little album.

SK8R-DUDE

Peter has been getting much better with his skateboarding. He enjoys practicing his tricks and skills out in the driveway. He and Gary made a ramp, for him to practice with, too. He thinks he's pretty hot stuff these days!
We think he's pretty special, too.

Saturday morning at the beach...

We got the boys out of bed early and headed off to the beach. The water was great although Peter and Dave were not happy to see relatively calm conditions--they wanted to surf! We arrived around 9:30 and for about 3 hours so we didn't get toasted. It was a fun morning for the Wolfepak.

Friday Night Stamping

I had time to play with my stamps and my cuttlebug today! These cards were made with an old Stampin Up set from 1998, called Frogs and Flies. The little guy reminds me of the character from the Frog and Toad books...don't you think? Anyway, the cards are made SU cardstock ( almost amethyst, pretty in pink, and mellow moss). I used the giga oval punch, assorted brads and ribbon, and used watercolor crayons to color the little frog in. As always, the colors don't come through as nicely as in person, but you get the idea! The saying is "time's fun when you're having flies".

some weekend play

Here are 2 cards that I made over the weekend. My friend and I got some girl time and this is what I came up with. I saw a similar card ( I think it was Janet Narcum...sorry if it was so meone else) who inspired me with a froggie one in this style. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the paper, and then used SU designer paper. The flowers on the bottom paper were colored in with a gel pen...on top of the designer paper. yes, it was tedious but relaxing! It is the same design as on the square above. Once I figured out the dimensions of the triangles, the card came together in a snap. Now... Kelcey can attest to the fact that the hardest part of the card was figuring out those measurements!

A gift for their dad

This is a frame that I made for Gary as a gift from his boys (all 6 of them). The photos are of the kids and the dogs. He can't wait to get it hung.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

and our hubbies thought we were scrapbooking!

Here is the layout I made for our little contest. I started with a cruise spinner with sections for dine, swim, shop, relax, and tour. I used letter stickers to coordinate with these colors to spell out the title of the page. The photos that I used are titled (and placed near their complimentary spot in the spinner) "Macarena Anyone?", "Half-Moon Cay", Jules and Linda and their tower", "Michelle at Senor Frogs", "Kelcey in the Straw Market", "Spa Night", "Roz and Chris, the Cabana Boy", and finally "Travis and Roz...Catch of the Day". The journaling near the photos is hand done, in either pink, orange, green or blue to compliment the spinner. The photos that are matted have had the mats distressed to coordinate with the background. I hope you like it, it brought back fun memories! The next page will show that we really did some scrapbooking during the cruise, and i have the photos to show it!
