weekend playtime

While Peter was doing some schoolwork, I was able to create some fun cards this weekend! I was playing with my cuttlebug, and decided to distress some of the embossing with a stamp pad...then i got the idea to use twinkling H2O's to color over the raised
areas. I think it looks should see it sparkle in person!
I used some of my stamps from Amy at Simply Sistas as well as one of my favorites...the frog prince! In all, I was able to make 15 cards to add to my box while Peter got some work done!
HOORAY for me....

Another card for Amy

Here is another card that I made for Amy and Simply Sistah's. This is Issabella and Cupcake going for a walk. I have used some of my favorite scrapbooking paper (Basic Grey). The base of the card is Close to Cocoa by Stampin Up...the main image is matted with So Saffron and Pretty in Pink (Stampin Up too). I put a big brad on a big purple flower to make it a little more girly! The colors really are sharp in person. Stop by to see more of Amy's stuff! She has great digital must try them, it is the newest in stamping technology!

Family Passover

Saturday night was the first night of Passover. We celebrated with a condensed seder at Mom and Dad's , because Mom wasn't up to cooking yet after her surgery. Dave joined us, as well as two couples that we haven't seen in ages! Dad did lots of cooking, and I brought up some baked goods for dessert. It was wonderful to have a more low-key seder than in the past few years.

Need some support?

I saw this stamp from Penny Black and just had to get it! Aside from reminding me of some cats we have shared our lives with, I just loved the picture! Sooooo, this too is one of my self-selected birthday gifts. As you see, I have had fun playing this weekend! The mini-clothespins were perfect, and I luckily found some rope for the clothesline. Enjoy!!!!!!!

Crafty Weekend

Well, for my birthday, I ordered myself some stamps from Hanna Stamps. They have this adorable moose, and they have a bunch of different styles...adorable! Here is one that I got and just had to play with! I used some old basic grey papers, along with some flowers and bling! Inside it says "Some of us are way too cute to take life seriously"...words to live by for sure!

Hooray for Crafty Time!

I set aside more me time this weekend and came up with a few nice projects. First of all, Gary has been bugging me to do some photo collages to put up on the walls. Well, I bought the collage frames, but had to turn them into ginormous layouts. Here is one that I did of Peter and Ben...when Dave saw it, his remark was "So Mom, who voted me off the island???!" and I had no response weren't here when I took these photos!

Then, I wanted to make a bunch of cards for my card stash and also to send out. I had stamped a bunch of images a while ago, and they are still sitting in the box in my craftroom. Well, I had an idea for a card-sketch, and found some images that would fit right into it. Here are some of the cards that came out of this endeavor. As the cow is boldly holding up a glass in celebration, I used card scents from to give the card a pina-colada scent to it. It smells MOOVELOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Peter

Peter has gotten permission to set up a private myspace page (take a deep breath....nobody can get in without permission and mom knows the passwords) and was in the mood to pose for photos of himself for his page. Well.....maybe we have an actor in our midst! This is my boy!!!!!

Where did our vacation go?????

WOW...we planned to have a relaxing spring break, filled with spring cleaning, yard work and some family time. I guess we got most of that accomplished, as it is now Friday and I can't figure out where the week went! During this past week, we went to visit Mom and Dad one evening, Gary and I were able to get a few meals out, kids, we planted some new things in the yard, tried to tame the overgrown bushes and trees, went to our weekly meeting with Dr L. and even got some crafty time in. My birthday was lots of fun...started out with a cute card and candle from Peter a few days early, then on Thursday Gary started the day off with flowers, and we ended the day with a bunch of my favorite people coming over to spend time with me for dinner and cardmaking. Needless to say, not much cardmaking was done, but we sure had fun. Especially when Linda made her entrance through the garage (trying to sneak by the guard dogs) singing at the top of her lungs!!! I just love my Linda to pieces! What would we do without her? was spent doing some last minute errands, and then a nice family dinner with Dave, Ben and Peter. Dave came in for a day or so...just to be with the family around my birthday. He did bring with him 3 loads of laundry and I still hear the rhythm of the dryer as I type! The clouds have disappeared, and the pool is up to at least 80 degrees. Tomorrow is supposed to be hot and sunny, so maybe I will venture into the blue. Everyone has taken their 1st dip of the year but me, so the boys are anxiously awaiting my plunge.
Maybe tomorrow I will have more to say....HUGS to all!
