SBS Group #15

Hi everyone!
I am a crafty mom of 3 boys (ages 13, 16, and 21), wife of 23 years to my high school sweetheart, pack leader to 3 big dogs (Loki 8, Thor 3 and Balloo 18 months), and I am also a teacher of 3-5 year olds with special needs. I have been crafting for what seems like forever, but stamping and scrapbooking for about 8 years. I try to work on projects at least 2 nights a week, while my boys are doing homework or stuff around the house. I enjoy sharing craft ideas with others, and hanging out with friends on message boards and groups. The area where I am is not rich in craft stores, so I find inspiration and products online. Hope to hear from all of my stamping sisters soon!

We all love PEEPS!!!!!!!!

What would spring be without those lovable sweet peeps?

Balloonabella

Here is a card that I made this week to cheer up my mom. She just had knee replacement surgery. This criss cross card is made using Balloonabella image, berry bliss cardstock (stampin up), stickles and prima flowers. As long as I was making one for mom, I figured I would make up a bunch of them for my card file!

Be kind...this is the first time we are trying this out!

Another weekend bites the dust....

This weekend was beautiful, but it flew by way too quickly! Saturday, Gary and I had some time to go to the nursery and get some plants to spruce up the yard. Spring is coming, and I feel the urge to beautify the house. In the evening,I went to the skatepark to pick up Peter. I spent a while there, taking photos with my new FLIP video camera. The photos came out great! The only mistake that I made was not downloading the software before I started taking videos. I lost the videos that I took, but the computer is ready to accept the next batch. YEAH!!!!
Sunday morning, Ben and I drove to Orlando to visit mom in the hospital. She was sitting up in her chair when we got there. Her handsome physical therapist came by while we were there, and got her up for a walk. He says that she is doing well. The doctor came by and told her she can go home on Tuesday. We had a nice visit, then went to lunch with dad.
On the way home, we made a little wrong turn, and ended up at the grand opening of a new KOHL's store. Ben was looking for a present for Stephanie, so we went in. We all got some new jewelry, at really great prices. Ben and I replaced chains that had broken, I got a new pair of earrings ( I lost one of my favorite ones this past week) and we picked up a necklace for Stephanie. The boys got a new showercurtain (monkey jungle of course!) and I got some cute sneaker-like espadrilles--summer pink and girly! Now we are home, and I am heading to make dinner. Hope you all had a great weekend!

TJ keeps the mood rolling

TJ was helping me to make a ribbon holder...as Gary was too disgusted with our silliness to continue to help out. We were having a laugh over one of my toys from Winter Retreat...who thanks to Di, we have lots to joke about our Tim Holtz pricks (aka pokers or piercing tools). Well, the shoebox cracked, and we all cracked up...especially when TJ found a new hat to wear!

PULEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary isn't impressed with the silliness floating around our house....but TJ helps to keep the mood light!

more silliness

Thursday we had the flood....Friday was just as silly. Jody, TJ and Mike came over after dinner. It had been a long week for all of us. They had to leave their house for a few days due to renovations to their bathroom. We had been having one of those weeks you want to forget ever happened! Sooooo.........while entertaining Michael, Peter decided to make some balloon animals. After making an adorable dog for Michael, something went terribly wrong and voila...Peter got really really goofy! Here is the resulting balloon animal. TJ took a photo of me with Peter's creation, but that is not to be seen....

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday night while Gary was in Orlando, we had a really crappy night! Peter accidentally flooded the bathroom while Ben and I were are Publix. I received a panicked call to come home immediately--there was water all over the house. Well, I didn't think it was that bad, but when i got home, there was 1/2 inch of water all through the house! WOW!!!!!!!!! Peter didn't realize the toilet was flooding, and must have gone outside. By the time he came back in...
Anyway, I really surprised him by not having a meltdown. It was either laugh or cry, and I put on my big girl panties and laughed until I could laugh no more! Ben and Peter were good sports (kind of) and helped clean up. Ben was the one who was the crankiest...Peter did great! Jody and Michael came over to help clean up. The crap and sh=t jokes kept rolling all the way until late evening! You should have seen Ben's face when I started to take photos!!!!
The moral of the story is to find joy in the simple things and let the crap roll off your back! All was cleaned up, no damage was done, it was an accident, and we all have a story to tell!

one more for Sunday

Here is one last card (actually set of cards as I made 6 of these)for the weekend. I haven't played with my bella stamps in a while, and thought that this would work nicely with the card. Her dress is sparkly thanks for stickles!

Sunday Craft-time

Peter wanted to watch movies with his friend this afternoon, and I sat in the family room, at the coffee table and came out with these 2 versions of Merci from the Stampin Up Sell-a-Brations catty. I am enjoying the purely pomegranate papers...they are an interesting shade of reds and lend themselves nicely to florals. These flowers were calling for some bling, so I took out my stickles and even my twinkling H2O's---voila!

My Forever Friend

When I went to Winter Retreat two weeks ago, I started a project to help remind someone that he is my "bestest friend on the planet"...I finished it a while back, and he reminded me that I never posted it on the blog! OOPS...shame on me. So, here are some photos of my BoBunny FRIEND book, entitled MY FOREVER FRIEND
Sorry honey....I didn't mean to forget to post this...I didn't think you wanted to share it with everyone :)
