Congrats to Eli and Stacy!

My cousins Stacy and Eli just adopted a precious little newborn girl! She is still in the hospital, but is expected home soon. I made this card for them today (with one of my favorite stamps from Close to my Heart). The paper is also from CTMH, and is from their new catty.
I hope that Eli and Stacy send me photos! If they do, I will surely post them for all to see.

Saturday was Scrap Day

Kelcey came over yesterday and we had a day filled with scrapping and girl talk! Gary had his last class at FAU, and the boys went bowling. I am taking an online class at GOT SKETCH (click on the badge on my blog for more details) and got 2 layouts done as well as a few cards. It has been a while since I worked on my photos from my trip to California with Dave so I decided to work on that. Here are my layouts! It was fun for this Florida transplant to work on snow photos!

The New MOM~mobile

Gary and I have been looking into trading out our mini-van for something smaller and more fuel efficient. Well...I had my heart set on a convertible, but Gary did not think it was such a great idea. My feeling is that we live in Florida, I have been driving a mini-van for the past 20 years, and it was time for me to get what I wanted (as long as it was reasonable). My first choice was a Solara, but that wasn't reasonable! Yesterday Gary surprised me and we went seriously car shopping. The car we both really loved didn't pan out...but one door closed and another opened. Here is a photo of me in my new wheels! It is a 2007 Mustang and Gary saw it, picked it out, we drove it and he said "You want it...we'll get it!"
Gotta love him for that one!

Do not Quit

I was cruising the web earlier and found this wonderful presentation of the "famous" Do Not Quit poem. I haven't heard this poem before, but it is a fantastic poem that I am going to have to turn into a mini-album for Peter. Check it out by clicking on the title above or visit http://www.thedontquitpoem.com/

Last Day of School 2008~

Today was a day of mixed emotions. It was a tough year at work. Our class was made up of children with a vast difference in ability levels. I have 5 children moving on to a Kindergarten class next fall, and I have a bunch who are staying on for another year or so. Next year, most of the children will be on the younger side, and most are nonverbal or have limited verbal skills. I am sure going to miss having meaningful conversations with them! Some of my kiddos have such amazing vocabulary, and are "old souls" in the way they speak. Too darn funny!
Linda and I always fall head over heels for our kids, no matter what their behaviors, personalities, and abilities are. I am blessed to love my job and have a huge heart that is filled with fond memories of children I have taught ( the little ones are just way too darn cute!!!).
I don't usually post photos of my students, but the parents all agreed it wasn't a problem...so here are some snippets from today! My son Peter joined us after he last 2 exams, and he was a great help to have around. My boys are so awesome with my students, it warms my soul!

You Rock!

Here is one of my new stamps from Stampin Bella. When I saw the little punkster, I just had to get her! I used the Rock Star Paperpack for all of the papers (except the white). She is colored with sharpies (yes...sharpies), and highlighted with stickles. Her guitar is covered in Diamond Glaze, so it looks real! Most of them have sentiments that say YOU ROCK!!!

Jumping in For a New Class

I have been enjoying Valerie's blog, GOT SKETCH and have been contemplating taking her new (and first) online class. Today I decided to go for it! Hooray for me....I think!
Here is the info, it starts on June 9th and only costs $21 for 10 classes. I thought that price was great, considering the cost of classes we take at crops and conferences.
